&lt;p&gt;Food waste accounts for &lt;a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/19/garden/19worms.html?pagewanted=all"&gt;a disturbing amount&lt;/a&gt; of trash in the U.S. It would be nice if everyone could recycle some of that food waste back into the food web.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This Yale survey gives some encouraging news, and some details on which communication strategies we should focus on in order to reach those who need to be reached. The good news?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;~65% of Americans are at least “Cautious” or higher in their belief/concern about global warming&lt;/strong&gt;. I think this shows that strategies to motivate those in the center and to convince those on the right end of the scale need to be separated and further developed as their own strategies.&lt;/p&gt;
